—Much of what we call personality is not a fixed set of traits, only coping mechanisms a person acquired in childhood.” ― Gabor Maté.

My Story

My journey into the somatic therapy world began after a car accident left me with a broken spine and immobilizing body pain. That experience forced me to confront my own trauma recovery and required me to tune into the dysfunction of my mind-body system as a whole. I realized that healing could only happen with a holistic approach and that I needed to begin the process of reconnecting with myself.

Working so closely with folks navigating addiction and mental health challenges also inspired me to re-evaluate how support is offered. Witnessing the gaps in our structured systems and seeing people consistently fall through those cracks motivated me to find new ways to offer assistance that focuses on the mind, body and spirit connection, rather than forcing people into boxes where they are required to re-live their trauma over and over.

I now offer a trauma-informed, client-centered, mind-body approach to healing. I am a Clinical Somatic Educator and Therapist with over 14 years of professional experience working as a Child and Youth Care Counsellor. Additionally, I am also in the final stages of becoming a Somatic Experiencing™ Practitioner and have completed over 100 hours of additional certifications in Somatic Attachment Therapy, Integrative Somatic Parts Work, Animal-Assisted Therapy, and Dr. Gabor Matè's Compassionate Inquiry.

Each session is tailored to meet what you need in that moment. I deeply value the wisdom of each person's nervous system and believe in the power of understanding the various languages of the body. My passion lies in helping individuals attune to themselves, build an unwavering sense of inner safety, and cultivate emotional ease through somatic practices.

Spending time outdoors is also a passion of mine. My love for conservation and rehabilitation work has led me to volunteer in South Africa, working on various projects there, as well as having an internship supporting wildlife rehabilitation efforts in Alberta Canada. I believe deeply that there is much to learn from the nature and animals surrounding us, especially when it comes to finding the balance of holding on and letting go. Nature also reminds me that we are the gardeners of our experience.

To nurture my inner child, I enjoy painting with watercolors, gardening, playing in the river with my dogs, dancing in my kitchen and bird watching. I look forward to holding space for you and your inner child as you embark on the journey of coming home to yourself.
